The Impractical Path

Liliana Minja Jimenez always knew she wanted to be a dancer, but a poor childhood, and a practical road led her away from her dreams. Then one day she found a path. Daring to risk it, and through many hard years she’s now the co-director for Rumba Y Timbal and the Dance Companies top performer. About Liliana: Born in Puerto Rico, Liliana has had a busy fulfilling life with school and family, but always curious about dance. In 2009 while studying at Northeastern University she was introduced to the world of Latin Dance and realized it needed to be a part of her life. Liliana started with Vera Rowe, eventually found herself at Rumba y Timbal Dance Company and has since grown to be a part of the company. She has had the opportunity to perform at many congresses including Punta Cana Salsa Congress, Connecticut Salsa Festival, Boston Salsa Festival. She has also performed and taught at many local events such as dancing live at the Halftime show for the Boston Celtics and teaching Rumba alongside Dancing With the Stars former champion and Olympian Kristi Yamaguchi. Now an instructor, coach, choreographer, and professional dancer, Liliana enjoys exploring the world of dance and training herself to the highest level to share with her fellow dancers and students.
